Swallowing Gum

Author’s Note: This is a content essay on life science. I am trying to work on adding opinion or reaction, sentence structure, and proof read. If you could give me some feedback that would be great.

Have you ever swallowed gum before? Did you mean to swallow it or was it by accident. Have you ever thought about what can happen? Gum can be harmful to your digestion. Really swallowing gum isn’t as bad as most people think.

First of all, as we all know gum is for chewing not swallowing. Some people accidentally swallow it, but some people swallow it because they are to lazy to throw it away or they don’t want to get caught chewing gum.

Secondly, if you ever swallow gum don’t go crazy, because it is actually not entirely bad to swallow gum. Maybe some of you have heard the story of that if you swallow gum it sits in your stomach for 7 years. That is not true. Yes, your stomach can’t digest it but it doesn’t sit in your stomach, it goes into your digestion system.

Lastly, I am not here to tell you that swallowing gum is something that you can do whenever. The bad thing of swallowing gum is that when it goes down into your digestion system and end up giving you constipation.

Though swallowing gum won’t make to many problems, I still wouldn't swallow it.  If you accidentally swallow it don’t worry the problems will only occur if you swallow a lot. Just remember the next time you have gum in your mouth think before you swallow.

Natural Pest Control

Have your crops ever been destroyed by bugs that eat or infect plants? Are you are really into gardening and hate those bugs?  This may be a solution for you!  While I was watching a video by Shimon Steinberg  on Ted Talks, he was talking about a new way that you could keep pests (mainly bugs)out of your garden by using other bugs.

Most people have seen or heard about crops becoming infected or ruined, because of the bugs in their yard. For example, bugs like aphids and thrips (a bug that infects crops and makes them black and moldy) are bad for your crops and can leave viruses.  The new thought Shimon had is that you can use good bugs to kill the other bad bugs. Like wasps kill aphids by laying eggs inside of the aphid and then when the wasp hatches it eats it way out the aphid.  Very DISGUSTING!
I don't like this idea, because yes, it might save a lot of your crops, but you almost have 10x the amount of bugs in your garden.  They are good bugs, but  it would be pretty annoying having tons of wasps flying around you and no one would even want to be in your garden!  One other problem, I would think, is how many dead bugs it would leave behind.

So, if you really want your plants to say alive and fresh, this could be a good option. The percentage of sweet peppers went from 35% to 80%, but what my question is, how would you contain them in your garden? When they tested this theory it was in a green house and if you're in a green house the bad bugs can't get in there in the first place? Just something to think about.

Overall  it could work, because these bugs are very tiny. If you were thinking regular sized wasps, NO, they are very, very, tiny, but you can still see them with the naked eye. So Shimon might be right and he knows what he's talking about.
